Left Pocket LLC ("Left Pocket," "we," "us," or "our") operates the iHatePaper mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our App. By using iHatePaper, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

iHatePaper is developed and operated by Left Pocket LLC, a company registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States.

2. The Core of What We Do — And Don't Do — With Your Documents

iHatePaper is designed as an intelligence layer only. When you photograph a document using our App:

• Your document images are temporarily transmitted to our secure processing servers solely for the purpose of classification, conversion to PDF, and filing.
• Document content is never stored permanently on Left Pocket infrastructure.
• Once processing is complete and your file has been successfully uploaded to your connected Google Drive account, all temporary copies of your document are permanently deleted from our systems.
• We do not read, analyze, retain, sell, or share the content of your documents for any purpose other than completing the filing action you requested.
• Your documents live in your Google Drive account. We do not own or control them.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or connect a third-party service, we may collect:

• Your name and email address (via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google)
• Google Drive authorization credentials (OAuth token) to enable filing documents on your behalf

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

We automatically collect certain non-personal usage data to operate and improve the App, including:

• Number of documents and pages processed
• Batch sizes and processing timestamps
• Document category classifications (e.g., "Bill," "Receipt") — not document content
• App crash reports and error logs
• Device type, operating system version, and app version

3.3 Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data. Firebase Analytics may collect information such as app usage patterns, session duration, and feature engagement. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Firebase Analytics data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
• Process your document images and file them to your Google Drive
• Track usage statistics within the App (documents filed, pages scanned, streaks)
• Improve the performance, accuracy, and reliability of the App
• Send push notifications related to your document processing
• Respond to your support inquiries
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We may share limited information with the following third parties solely to operate the App:

• Google LLC — to authenticate your account via Google Sign-In and to upload your processed documents to your Google Drive account via the Google Drive API.
• Anthropic, PBC — we use the Claude API to classify document images. Document images are transmitted to Anthropic's API for classification purposes only. We do not permit Anthropic to use your document content for model training.
• Google Firebase — for authentication, database services, cloud functions, and analytics as described in Section 3.3.
• RevenueCat, Inc. — to manage in-app subscription purchases and entitlements.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Left Pocket LLC, our users, or others.

6. Google Drive Access

iHatePaper requests access to your Google Drive account solely to create folders and upload your processed PDF documents. We request the minimum necessary OAuth scope (drive.file), which limits our access to only the files that iHatePaper itself creates. We do not access, read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.

You may revoke iHatePaper's access to your Google Drive at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions or from within the App's Settings screen.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Document images and their content are retained only transiently during processing and are deleted immediately upon successful filing. Aggregated usage statistics (document counts, page counts, streaks) are retained for the lifetime of your account to power the App's stats features.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at chris@getleftpocket.com. We will process such requests within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (TLS/HTTPS) for all data in transit, secure cloud infrastructure via Google Firebase, and ephemeral document processing with immediate deletion upon completion. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

iHatePaper is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at chris@getleftpocket.com and we will promptly delete such information.

10. Advertising

iHatePaper does not display third-party advertisements. We do not work with advertising networks. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including:

• The right to access the personal information we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate information
• The right to request deletion of your information
• The right to revoke Google Drive access at any time
• The right to opt out of Firebase Analytics by adjusting your device's privacy settings

12. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. 13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you through the App or via the email address associated with your account. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
